Great Basin National Park is Nevada’s only national park entirely within the state — and one of the least-visited parks in the system. This week we’re exploring it top to bottom: the 90-minute Grand Palace Tour inside Lehman Caves (the trip highlight, including the moment the ranger killed the lights), the Wheeler Peak Scenic Drive, 4,900-year-old bristlecone pines, and a night sky packed with thousands of stars.
We also head out beyond the park boundary: a ghost town called Osceola that got away from us down a gravel road, the Million Dollar Courthouse in Pioche.
